On to the Next One

I know the one picture is kind of blurry so sorry about that! This project was to make a slip decorated vessel so it needs some kind of lid, but I could have gone about this so many ways, and I like decorating with slip so much, I might just make another one! So with this I decided to make a bouquet on this one so all the flowers pop out and the stems and leaves are jusy painted on. I hope it turns out well and looks good when its fired!

Just Keeping You Posted

I had to make a handmade vessel with 3 wheel thrown spouts, and I thought to myself how the heck am I gonna make this look good? So I did pretty simple spouts, but when I was doing thwn, mt ceramics teacher said wow they look like Dr. Seuss trees, so then my mind started going and I thought of painting this all funky Dr. Seuss colors with stripes and maybe some zig zags and then on the book I thought of the little man on top on the thing so maybe I was thinking of doing him on top, but I'm not sure yet, but Im happy how it came out!

Stay Focused Colleen!

So my mommom arrived at the hospital earlier today because she fell and bashed her head open and had to get 5 staples in her head. I really hope she's okay. To add on to the mess, my mom won't let me get a second job and her attitude right now is really getting to me, which means I'm going to have to take it up with my dad.  All this stress is throwing me off of my A-game which means its time to turn on the netflix, watch some New Girl episodes and try to get crackin' on my project.

Oh and another thing to add on to the mess, I came home to see one of my pots almost completely disintegrated because of all the rain today! Ill never make the mistake of leaving my pots outside again. But as an artist you have to see the bright side of things! I'm going to wait until it dries and fire it and paint it just the way it is! Wish me luck!

Sorry Mr. Smith

I have to say sorry to my ceramics teacher Mr. Smith because he probably has to read all of my posts, and probably thinks I am this weird kid. But honestly, this weird side of my only happens at night. Ya know when I'm tired. I can't help it. Or like when I'm watching New Girl like I am right now. Okay, I'm done, on to continuing working on my ceramics project #3. Oh by the way its an egg shaped vessel peeled open with a rigid texture on the inside. And that's it cause it has to be simple cause I think it has to be based off of Joyce Michaud.

Overwhelmed.

I never never NEVER thought craming in projects with my already cramed up life would be so hard. I like to keep busy, its nothing new for my life to be this crazy, but this is harder than I expected. Dont get me wrong, I love the challenge, I just can't wait to get past this hand-building stage of this and start the wheel throwing and choice projects. Things will be looking up my fellow bloggers!

CRUNCH TIME

CRUNCH TIME! Found out staying up late to try to come up with 6 sketches for my 3rd project does not help my brain. Trying to figure out how to balance painting my first project, finish my second project and start/sketch my third
project is no fun. I'm having a hard time taking this all in. Anyone else have these problems too?

So I started AP ceramics this year as a senior in high school and I am so excited for the challenges I am about to face this year. I hope to learn how to perfect my art and skills, make duplicates from things on the wheel, and make abstract pieces that I can appreciate. I have already started on my second project. I am makibg it for my sister and can't wait to see her reaction when she sees it for the first time!
